SAVE YOUR SHIPPING BOX FOR STORAGE. FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES IN A AN INDOOR LOCATION IF POSSIBLE (before your event). THIS WILL INCREASE LONGEVITY OF THE GRAPHIC’S TACKY BACKING, AND REUSABILITY.
- Clean vehicle surface (door/hood) where graphic will be placed. This is vital to the longevity of the graphic. The back of the placard is tacky, and dirt/debris will lesson it’s ‘sticky’.
- Remove Graphic from backing paper (SAVE the backing paper-required for storage).
- Holding graphic by the left/right ends, (near the middle), place the TOP INCH of the graphic against vehicle (align with body panels/seams/windows/etc), and let it adhere. Move your grip down to the bottom left/right corners, while still holding the rest of the graphic off the vehicle (but the top is slightly stuck in place). While holding the bottom of the graphic taught between your hands, put the bottom of the graphic against the vehicle. The graphic should be held in place, but will most likely have air bubbles that will need to be squeegee’d out, using the squeegee included in your kit.
- To squeegee out the air, start at the middle of the graphic and move outward with firm pressure, and overlapping strokes. You can do top to bottom, right to left, which ever works best. Small air bubbles (size of a dime) will not affect the adhesive performance....but it’s best to get them out, especially near the front of the graphic.
- You can also use the strips included in your kit to hold down the leading edge of the graphic. This is highly recommended at any event with speeds over 60mph. It IS nec- essary to use the front edge strips if you will be using the re-usable vinyl at an event when precipitation (rain) is expected.
- NOTE: Some customers like to ‘wet’ the surface area of the vehicle before applying the graphic, as it helps to rid the graphic of air bubbles. If you decide to do this, it’s best to use a sprayer filled with water, and a few drops of baby shampoo. USE VERY LITTLE! Be sure that the graphic can ‘dry’ a bit before high speed use (an hour). Also note that it may affect the longevity of the adhesive on the back of the graphic.
- Removal/Storage
- When finished with your event, it's best to remove when you get home, not at the track (remember you have numbers on your vehicle on the way home!).
- When ready to remove graphic....lift up from both bottom corners (or top corners), keeping the graphic taught in between your hands.
- Slowly, gently pull graphic off vehicle from the bottom to top (or top to bottom), but never side to side.
- Once you have the graphic off the vehicle, place it immediately onto backing paper, and squeegee it into place (use a body panel or front window for support). Repeat for all graphics. Store graphics in shipping box for next event.
